What is the difference between the Drive Fundamental Frequency (FF) and the Drive Switching (Carrier) Frequency (FSW)?

1. The Drive Fundamental Frequency (FF) is the frequency of the Output Current. This frequency determines the speed of the motor. Also referred to as the Motor Frequency.

2. The Drive Switching (Carrier) Frequency (FSW) is the frequency of the PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) Pulses, i.e. the frequency at which the Drive Output Semiconductors -- usually IGBTs (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors) -- are switching.
